Nora Habig, who began working for M&T Bank (NYSE: MTB) in 1990, has been named president of the bank’s central and western Pennsylvania region, replacing Stephen A. Foreman, who retired Oct. 9 after a 35-year career with the bank.
Habig, who previously served as M&T’s group manager for commercial banking in central Pennsylvania for 15 years, now oversees the bank’s operations in 10 counties spanning Dauphin and Allegheny.
As part of Habig’s promotion, Andy Hetrick, a former commercial banking team leader in central Pennsylvania, has been promoted to replace Habig as group manager for commercial banking in Dauphin and Cumberland counties.

Habig began her M&T career working in treasury management before transitioning to a position as a relationship manager in commercial lending in 1999. She left M&T in 2003 for a brief stint before rejoining the bank in 2005 as group manager of the commercial bank in two central Pennsylvania counties and eventually territory from Harrisburg to Altoona, Pa.
In her new role, Habig plans to will help strengthen communication across the bank’s business areas, particularly as employees continue to work remotely, and oversee the bank’s community reinvestment efforts.
Habig resides in Carlisle, Pa., and earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Albany in New York.
