M&T Bank Contributes $2 Million to Schools, Programs in Pennsylvania in 2016

Includes $115,215 to schools and agencies in the Philadelphia region

M&T Bank has made contributions totaling $2,108,888 to area schools and educational programs throughout Pennsylvania. The funds will provide scholarships for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students as well as to support innovative educational programs in schools and community agencies.

The contributions are made through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program, a state tax-credit program that provides a 90 percent tax credit in exchange for a 2-year commitment of funds.
 
Across Pennsylvania, over 140 agencies received vital funding for their programs. In Philadelphia, 23 area agencies received $115,215 to support programs and scholarships. The decisions regarding specific agency funding are made by the regional community banking leadership.

  • Spark Program, Inc.
  • Stroud Water Research Center
  • Vetri Foundation for Children
  • Walnut Street Theatre
  • WHYY, Inc.
  • Wordsworth Academy
  • YMCA of Greater Brandywine
  • Byerschool Foundation
  • Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia
  • KidsPeace Corp
  • Villa Maria Academy Lower School
