M&T Bank and Wilmington Trust employees in Wilmington collected 15 boxes of paper, binders, markers, and other critically needed school supplies to benefit the YMCA of Delaware. The donated goods will equip children with the tools they need for a successful 2015-2016 school year.
“We believe the YMCA of Delaware does exceptional work to brighten the futures of our region’s children and families, and are proud to help them further their educational initiatives,” said Jack Beeson, senior vice president and head of Global Capital Markets at Wilmington Trust, who organized the event.
“We know it’s important to help families nurture the potential of their children,” said Nick Lambrow, president of the Delaware Region for M&T Bank. “This initiative will help children be in a position to succeed.”
The supplies will be distributed at the YMCA’s Walnut Street branch, which serves over 200 children attending early childhood and before and after school programs daily. Students participate in numerous hands-on activities to foster friendships while learning valuable science, literacy, and artistic skills. The organization, which is dedicated to strengthening communities, aids students in setting and achieving personal and educational goals, thereby giving every child the opportunity to envision and pursue the best possible future.
