Cecilia Hodges was appointed Market President of the Central and Southern Virginia market for M&T Bank. In her new role she will be responsible for growing the bank’s presence in commercial, real estate, business and consumer banking in the region. She will also continue to manage M&T’s commercial real estate banking groups in the Greater Washington region.
Hodges will fill a vacancy left by the retirement of Hugh Newton. She has 28 years of experience in the banking industry and has been with the bank for 18 years.
“Growing up in Southwest Virginia, this expansion of my responsibilities is particularly meaningful. I look forward to serving companies and families throughout the state,” said Hodges.
Hodges serves on the boards of Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA, HomeAid Northern Virginia (HANV) and Women Giving Back (WGB). She has served as the chair of the Easter Seals’ M&T Bank Bright Stars Night at the Circus for three years.
Hodges organizes many of the bank’s charitable activities, such as clothing drives and an annual school supply drive, benefiting women and children living in local homeless shelters and transitional housing. As a leader of the M&T’s Women’s Interest Network (WIN) “Women in Greater Washington” chapter, she supports other women at the bank and helps them achieve their career goals.
