M&T Bank announced that it has completed its acquisition of 21 Upstate New York branches from Citibank N.A., including nine branches in Buffalo and 12 in Rochester. M&T Bank assumed approximately $1 billion in new deposits and $269 million in new loan balances, becoming the market share leader in bank deposits in both Buffalo and Rochester.

Important Information for Customers: -- Branch and ATM Information --- Customers now have access to M&T Bank's 64 branches and 170 ATMs in the Buffalo area, and 40 branches and 66 ATMs in the Rochester area. M&T Bank also has more than 270 branches and 475 ATMs in New York State, and a total network of more than 670 branches and 1,600 ATMs in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia and Delaware. -- Account Information --- All accounts and balances have been transferred from Citibank N.A.'s Upstate New York branches to M&T Bank. M&T Bank has sent new checks and ATM cards to all of their new customers from Citibank N.A. Rates and terms have not been changed on CDs, installment loans, lines of credit or overdraft protection accounts. For specific information about the transfer of their Citibank N.A. accounts to M&T Bank, customers can call 1-800-414-9435. -- Web Banking Information --- Former Citibank N.A. online banking customers will receive free M&T Web Bill Pay - and can earn up to 2,000 Visa Extra bonus points just by enrolling. Citibank online bill pay customers will retain their bill pay history and be able to convert their payee information into M&T Web Bill Pay.
M&T Bank and Citibank N.A. jointly announced in April that they had reached a definitive agreement under which M&T Bank would acquire the 21 branches from Citibank, N.A.
