M&T Bank Announces New Executive Vice Presidents

BUFFALO, N.Y.; March 11, 2020—M&T Bank Corporation (NYSE: MTB) ("M&T") announced today that it has appointed two new executive vice presidents: Laura P. O’Hara, General Counsel, and Julianne Urban, Chief Auditor.

Gold, M&T President and Chief Operating Officer. 

As General Counsel, O’Hara is responsible for overseeing the company’s legal functions, including litigation and enforcement matters, and advising on proposed laws, rules and regulations.  She joined M&T in 2017 with more than 30 years of litigation, compliance and risk management experience. 

O'Hara holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Economics from Villanova University, where she graduated summa cum laude.  

As Chief Auditor, Urban is responsible for managing all audit activities at M&T, which includes providing an independent assessment of the governance, risk management and control environment.  She reports directly to the Audit Committee of M&T’s Board of Directors. Urban has more than 25 years of experience as an auditor in the financial services industry. 

She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner. She is also certified in Risk Management Assurance and has an Accreditation in Internal Quality Assessment/Validation.  She received a B.S. in Accounting from Canisius College.
