Head of Enterprise Operations

Rich McCarthy leads Enterprise Operations at M&T Bank, where he is responsible for integrating key operational capabilities to strengthen how the bank serves its customers and supports its employees. This organization brings together the Contact Center, Customer Asset Management, Banking Services, Customer Advocacy, and Risk Shared Services to improve information flow, accelerate decision-making, and enhance service delivery.

With a career that began in branch banking and evolved through leadership roles in Digital and Telephone Banking, Consumer Products, Customer Experience and Retail Banking, Rich brings a deep understanding of front-line operations.

Rich is active in the community through his work with the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County and the Episcopal Church Home Foundation. He serves on the board of directors for the New York Bankers Association and is a member of the Executive Asset Liability Committee.

Rich holds both an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and is a graduate of the Consumer Bankers Association’s Executive Banking School.
