Darren King is a Senior Executive Vice President at M&T Bank Corporation, responsible for a portfolio of businesses, including retail and business banking, mortgage, indirect/dealer teams, and consumer lending.

Prior to his current role, King served as Chief Financial Officer at M&T Bank Corporation with the responsibility for the company’s overall financial management including oversight of SEC and regulatory reporting, acquisitions and divestitures, shareholder capital, and balance sheet management. M&T's assets grew to over $200 billion. King also oversaw the $8.4 billion acquisition of People's United Bank in 2022 which expanded M&T's footprint in New England and Long Island, NY. 

Darren joined M&T Bank in 2000 as Administrative Vice President of Network Planning and has served in many management positions, including the head of Retail, Business Banking, Marketing and Communications, and Consumer Lending, as well as being manager of Telephone Banking, Online, ATM, and Distribution Strategy.

His experience in the financial services industry spans more than 30 years and includes senior leadership roles at Mercer Management Consulting, the predecessor firm to Oliver Wyman, where he was Vice President in the Financial Services Practice.

Darren is an active participant in the Buffalo community, serving on the Board of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership.
 

He earned his Honors Business Administration (HBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
