New location on Kukas Lane builds on bank’s longstanding presence in the Waterbury community
WATERBURY, Conn. — M&T Bank (NYSE: MTB) today celebrated the grand opening of its new standalone branch at 184 Kukas Lane in Waterbury with a ribbon-cutting ceremony bringing together M&T leaders, employees and members of the community.
The new branch reflects M&T’s continued investment in the Waterbury community, providing a modern, convenient banking experience paired with the personalized service and local expertise customers value. Designed to support individuals, families and businesses, the 2,500-square-foot freestanding facility features teller services, a drive-thru, a walk-up ATM and private offices for one-on-one financial guidance. The branch offers comprehensive banking solutions, from everyday financial needs and mortgage lending to small business banking, helping customers achieve their goals while supporting the area's continued growth and prosperity.
“We’ve been proud to serve the Waterbury community for many years, and we’re excited to continue building on those relationships from our new location,” said Frank Micalizzi, M&T Bank’s Regional President in Southern Connecticut. “This new branch provides a welcoming space where our team can listen, understand our customers’ goals, offer personalized financial guidance and help individuals, families and businesses find the solutions they need. It reflects our ongoing investment in Waterbury and our commitment to serving the community for years to come.”
M&T also marked the grand opening by continuing its support for organizations serving the Waterbury community. The M&T Charitable Foundation is donating $15,000 to Waterbury Bridge to Success, a cross-sector partnership of over 90 community and civic leaders, educators and organizations that connect families and youth to local resources. The collaboration empowers Waterbury’s children, youth and families to be successful in school, career and life with a focus on early childhood education, third-grade reading, high school graduation and career and college readiness. M&T’s donation will help support the Manufacturing Job Training Program.
"Unfortunately, many young people—particularly those who are disconnected from school or the workforce—face significant barriers to accessing these opportunities,” said Althea Marshall Brooks, Executive Director, Waterbury Bridge to Success. “This program addresses the gap directly by providing hands-on training, industry exposure and the mentorship needed to help participants envision and achieve a brighter future. The practical, career-focused approach of workforce development and readiness, and exposure to state-of-the art manufacturing equipment and through visits with local employers, this program creates a bridge between untapped potential and in-demand skills.
