The new sign will sit on the roof above the building’s sixth floor and face Interstate 190, standing 12-feet tall by 67-feet wide. The install will begin on April 18, 2018, and will continue over the course of the week, with the final installation scheduled for April 21, 2018, depending on weather.
“M&T is currently the largest tenant in the Larkin Center of Commerce. The installation of this sign, a fixture that is respectful of the history of the building, while acknowledging the significant scale of the facility, is meant to communicate our continued commitment to Buffalo’s ongoing revitalization,” said Keith Belanger, M&T Bank senior vice president for corporate services.
Jim Cornell, Managing Partner of the Larkin Center of Commerce said, “M&T has been an excellent and highly supportive lender and tenant for the past seven years. This investment further demonstrates their firm commitment to the Larkin District and our property.”
M&T Bank currently leases 250,000 square feet in the Larkin Center of Commerce—which, in terms of space, is nearly equivalent to the bank’s 20-story headquarters building in downtown Buffalo, One M&T Plaza. Approximately half of the Larkin Center of Commerce space houses the bank’s records warehousing operations, with the other half housing some 600 employees, most of whom are in the bank’s Risk Division. Positioned for growth, M&T has some 750 seats in the Larkinville building.
