Administrative Vice President Carl Hairston has been honored by Washington Business Journal with a minority business leader award. The award recognizes entrepreneurial drive, creativity and business success.
Hairston is a regional manager in M&T Bank’s Greater Washington Business and Professional Banking Group, where he provides management and leadership of a lending and servicing team. He is responsible for a loan and deposit portfolio as well as the development of new business.
A board member of the Morgan State University Foundation, DC Chamber of Commerce and CultureCapital, Hairston is also a seminar presenter for the Small Business Administration, SCORE and various other local community-based organizations where he has given presentations on financing options for small businesses.
Previous awards include the YMCA’s Minority Achievers Award, Minority Bar Association’s Community Service Award, and Black Achievers in Industry Award. He was also the recipient of Baltimore and Rochester Business Journal Forty Under 40 awards.
Hairston, a native of Buffalo, holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Medaille College.
