WILMINGTON, DEl. – Wilmington Trust Corporation today announced it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware related to alleged conduct that took place between 2009 and 2010. The settlement brings this matter to a conclusion.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wilmington Trust Corporation is paying $60 million and settling the government’s claims. The settlement amount includes $16 million previously paid to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in a related action. Wilmington Trust did not admit any liability.

Wilmington Trust believes resolving this matter now is in the best interest of the company.
