M&T Bank’s Charitable Foundation Supports Delaware Organizations this Holiday Season

Throughout the year and during the holiday season, M&T Bank strives to reach out to our communities and help improve the quality of life. From Thanksgiving through the New Year, we help area families enjoy hot meals, gifts, and more.

This season, M&T and Wilmington Trust employees in Delaware supported:

  • Sunday Breakfast Mission: Ahead of Thanksgiving, employees collected various non-perishable items including stuffing mix and cranberry sauce for Sunday Breakfast Mission’s annual food drive, which provides Thanksgiving dinner to homeless families.
  • First State Community Action Agency: M&T Bank’s Millsboro-based employees collected non-perishable food items to support needy families this Thanksgiving through the First State Community Action Agency in Georgetown, Delaware.
  • United Way: As part of an annual tradition, the bank’s Millsboro employees also held a bake sale to benefit the United Way of Delaware, raising a total of $441.
  • The Salvation Army: M&T Bank employees once again supported The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree, Stocking, and Red Kettle Campaign programs by distributing gift information and collecting items such as toys, clothes, and winter coats from holiday shoppers, filling stockings with Christmas goodies, and ringing the bell outside the Bank’s Center building to collect donations for The Salvation Army Delaware.
  • Toys for Tots: This December, M&T Bank employees in Millsboro showed their generosity to children in need by donating new, unwrapped toys benefitting Toys for Tots’ efforts in Delaware.
  • The Ministry of Caring Inc.: To ensure the Christmas season brings a smile to every child’s face, employees purchased toys, clothing, and other gifts for children at The Ministry of Caring’s Emmanuel Dining Room.
  • Sojourners’ Place: M&T employees brought joy to adults this holiday season by contributing toward and purchasing gifts for homeless men and women in Delaware who receive assistance on their journey to self-sufficiency through Sojourners’ Place.
  • Exceptional Care for Children: In an effort to ensure everyone enjoys a warm and comfortable holiday season, M&T Bank collected cozy pajamas and loungewear for technology-dependent children and their families receiving nursing, transitional, and palliative care at Exceptional Care for Children in Newark, Delaware.
  • Operation Warm: M&T Bank delivered over 300 winter coats to disadvantaged children in New Castle and Sussex Counties with community partner Operation Warm.

“As a community-focused bank, we are committed to making a strong, positive impact in our neighborhoods through the help of our partners,” said Nick Lambrow, President of the Delaware Region for M&T Bank. “In fact, we’ve cultivated relationships with many of these organizations – like Sunday Breakfast Mission and Emmanuel Dining Room – for over two decades. As an organization, we encourage our employees to volunteer their time and energy to enhance the quality of life and strengthen the communities we serve.”

By October of 2016, M&T Bank’s Delaware region had contributed over $1 million to the local community through a variety of initiatives. Charitable activities, initiatives, and grants are led by local teams who live and work in the region.
