BINGHAMTON, N.Y.—As local hunger relief organizations continue to confront the number of Americans at risk, M&T Bank today announced a combined $11,150 donation to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and seven other regional food pantries, nutrition programs and charities throughout the region. The donations will help these organizations and their networks prepare to serve local children, families and individuals during the holiday season.

 

The following non-profit organizations received donations from M&T Bank:

“The holiday season is an especially busy time for these local organizations that make such a big difference to those in need in our community,” said M&T Bank’s Regional President Peter Newman. “Through these grants, we hope to show them we appreciate what they do on behalf of all of us to keep our community strong.” 

 

M&T Bank is a longtime supporter of these organizations and the donations announced today are in addition to the more than $100,000 combined that the Foundation has directed to these non-profits since 2010.

 

Operating as a community bank, charitable activities and grants are decided by local teams who live and work in the region. M&T Bank maintains a regional headquarters – providing management and administrative support for 10 counties in New York State and Pennsylvania – on Exchange Street in downtown Binghamton.
