Admission is On Us at Four Buffalo Institutions

Study a painting by Van Gogh, learn how to paint using watercolor, step into a re-creation of the late NBC newsman Tim Russert’s office—all for free!

The ‘M&T Fridays’ program offers free admission once a month to four of the popular Western New York arts, cultural and historical institutions:

  • Albright-Knox Art Gallery (First Friday)
  • Burchfield Penney Art Center (Second Friday)
  • The Buffalo History Museum (Third Friday)
  • Buffalo Arts Studio (Fourth Friday)

At M&T First Fridays @ The Gallery, visitors can experience treasured works of art, take a tour, attend a performance or participate in an art-making class. Everyone receives free admission to the Gallery’s 1962 building, while members also enjoy complimentary entry to special exhibits and programs.

On the second Friday of every month, the Burchfield Penney Art Center opens to happy hours, concerts, screens and other special events. The third Friday includes admission to family events, happy hours, docent-led tours and more at The Buffalo History Museum, and the fourth Friday features admission to galleries, film screens, book signings, live music and the studios of 36 resident artists at the Buffalo Arts Studio in the Tri-Main Center.

Hours for the 2015 M&T Fridays program are as follows:

  • Albright-Knox Art Gallery, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Burchfield Penney Art Center, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Buffalo History Museum, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Buffalo Arts Studio, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

M&T Fridays began in 2011 with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, also known as “The Gallery.” It quickly grew to include the Burchfield Penney Art Center in 2012, and the Buffalo History Museum and the Buffalo Arts Studio in 2013.
