ALBANY, N.Y.—M&T Bank has opened a new, energy-efficient 2,400-square-foot retail branch in the Hamilton Square shopping center on Western Avenue in Guilderland. 

The new branch, constructed by Latham-based Bette & Cring, LLC, includes a number of energy-reducing features to make it a more comfortable place for customers to bank and employees to work, including: 

• Natural light used extensively through large perimeter windows with exterior screening. All windows contain low-e (low emissivity) coatings to reduce solar heat gain.  
• The building’s exterior contains a composite insulated panel system with up to 70 percent recycled content and insulated back-up walls.
• Interior lighting includes energy-efficient fluorescent and ceramic metal halide lamps.
• Heating is provided by an energy-efficient gas unit, and electric heat pump for cooling.

M&T Bank relocated from its decades-old building at 2080 Western Ave. The new branch in Hamilton Square is adjacent to the old M&T branch. Senior Branch Manager Keith Atlas and his entire team now serve customers at the new branch, which is fully-equipped with traditional features, including a drive-up lane, an ATM, safe deposit boxes and a night depository.  

Customers can visit M&T’s new location from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
