M&T Bank's Plaza Event Series Kicks off Summer

BUFFALO, N.Y.—Grab your lunch and come on down to One M&T Plaza for the start of M&T Bank’s Plaza Event Series on Monday, June 6. This will kick off the 42nd anniversary of the Plaza Event Series—the longest running, corporate sponsored event of its kind in the United States.

The series will feature a wide array of free performances from noon to 1 p.m. every weekday beginning on June 6 and ending on August 26. Each week will feature various emcees from media outlets and performers with plenty of options to please the whole family.

This year the stage will be relocated to the north side of the plaza to accommodate construction that is part of M&T Bank’s multimillion dollar investment to renovate the exterior of One M&T Plaza. The building was originally designed by Minoru Yamasaki and opened in 1967.

“M&T has a long history of growing, investing and supporting the arts in Buffalo, and the Plaza Event Series has been a part of that history since shortly after One M&T Plaza opened. We look to forward to celebrating another summer downtown with our employees, customers and neighbors,” said Theresa Kazmierczak, vice president of Corporate and Community Events at M&T Bank, who has directed the concert series for over 25 years.

M&T Bank is proud to continue its tradition of the Plaza Event Series and its efforts to provide a stage for local artists. The series has won national and regional awards for excellence and continues to be a favorite for those who live and work in the downtown area.
